Mr. Ahmad Ashkar is the Chief Executive Officer and Founder of the Hult Prize Foundation – named in a TIME Magazine cover story featuring the top five ideas changing the world. His startups, projects and companies have been recognized as some of the most impactful and innovative in the world including his most recent recognition in 2018 as having, “One of the World’s Most Innovative Companies” as awarded by Fast Company. The foundation he founded in 2009, employs 2500 staff and volunteers and represents the world’s largest community of impact centered startup entrepreneurs emerging from university with a network of over two million people, spanning 121 countries.

As COO of the Hult Prize foundation, Karim works closely with the CEO to craft the organization’s strategic plan, design and execute education and incubation programs for entrepreneurs, advise startups across stages, manage and run the Hult Prize, and lead development and partnership initiatives globally. Karim has more than 15 years of entrepreneurial, financial services, and operating experience, spanning multiple geographies. He regularly advises startups and entrepreneurs; is a contributor to the Huffington Post on entrepreneurship, impact, and innovation; authors research on the intersection between charity and business; and sits on the board of Directors of NanoHealth Technologies, a startup based in India. He holds a B.A. in History from Boston College, and an M.B.A from NYU’s Stern School of Business, where he was a merit based scholarship recipient.
